Sunday Dinner with Ms. Gu and Taishan Doll Associates

After learning more about the collaborative effort to revive Barbie in Taishan, we were treated to an amazing dinner. There were too many courses to count and each one was an experience. From raw fish (salmon with soy sauce/wasabi); soup; and other delicies - some were better than others. My favorite was the pork and the salmon. Best of all was the time and willingness by everyone to share their stories. What I noticed most was the complete disregard for time. The presentaiton at the site and the gathering of new friends lead to much sharing. The hosts were so patient with our questions and lack of chop stick skills. We took so long that we had to cancel plans with our UM Alumni friends, but we will see them tomorrow in class.
